Summer Renewal 2022 For School Administrators

SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS:
Are you burnt out from leading your school through the unexpected challenges wrought by the pandemic?
How might you gain inspired energy to lead with a vision to bring renewal and resilience to yourself and then to your teachers and students?
We invite you to join Awakening Wisdom’s Summer Renewal to gain principles and practices that promote social emotional thriving where schools can be places of joy and humanity. Awakening Wisdom is a school culture approach to nurture social emotional well being for educators and for students, aligning all of the messages sent by the “hidden curriculum” of culture to foster wellbeing, including mind shifts that energize, empower, and engage.
Founded in Hawai’i 40 years ago, Awakening Wisdom has helped schools create the conditions where students love school by guiding educators to embody a set of universal principles for their own thriving. Role modeling the very values we expect of students ensures a school’s stated vision becomes a reality for effective and lasting results.
In this course, school leaders are guided through their own experience to discover their innate wisdom to restore balance and wellbeing. Awakening Wisdom is about how you are “being” as you do the myriad tasks of running a school, “being” that is the foundation and wellspring for renewal and resilience. School leaders will gain:
- insights into their leadership styles with added awareness of the habits of mind and
- tools that can inspire sorely needed renewal in their teachers and students.
- They will leave with goals for the next year to create their schools as places where all thrive.

First Thursdays 4:30 – 5:30 pm HST: 10/6, 11/10, 1/5 ,2/2, 3/2, 4/6 and 5/4
Being a principal can be a lonely job. The Leadership Cohort, held once a month for a year, is a safe space where members learn that vulnerability is a strength and where they deepen their understanding and practice of principles gained in the Summer Renewal. They share successes and challenges and gain insights, resulting in renewed energy to transform their school’s culture where coming to school is a joy and not just a job.
